Perfect Cast Bells, Minsk, Byelorussia
|
Bells from Minsk! These bells are quite simple in design, especially in the smaller sizes, more "rough-hewn", perhaps, than those of our other foundries. They are cast in sand rather than in ceramic clay, and so they don't have the exquisite detail that can be achieved with laser-carved moulds, etc. As a set, their timbres and sonorities are especially well-matched, so despite the fact that they are meant to be "price-performers" for tiny and poor parishes, they sound quite nice. They will not win first prize at the big exhibitions, but they are definitely a delight to ring and to hear.
